Domain
Reseller
It is very possible for you to make money when you
enroll in domain reseller programs. Registering for a
domain reselling program could mean one of many
different things. The most common definition of domain
reselling is when a person purchases a domain or a group
of domains and then resells them. Usually these domains
have just recently expired.
Reselling domains is accomplished in a variety of ways.
Sometimes investors will participate in a reselling
program that is offered by their favorite web hosting
company and/or Internet service provider. When enrolled
in a domain selling program usually the reseller of
those domains is enrolled in a domain auction service.
This type of service is sometimes referred to as the
domain aftermarket. Usually in the domain aftermarket
domains are sold to the highest bidder, and often for
more money than the domain was originally purchased for.
The higher the demand is for a particular domain name
the more money that a particular domain will be sold
for.
Most domains that are sold by way of domain auctions are
purchased for redirection purposes. A site user will
purchase a familiar domain that is offered for sale that
is as closely relevant to the domain name of another
site and then will direct all the traffic from that new
domain to the original domain. For example, a animal
lover against owning pets may have a site called
nopet.com. (Meant to be a fictitious example, could
coincidentally be the name of a website) then that site
owner purchases a new domain. That new domain may be
called nomorepets.com and then may redirect all new site
visitors to nopets.com.
Domains that are purchased from resellers are very
valuable. New owners of previously used domains will
benefit from the traffic received and will make a new
mark all across the Internet. There are quite a few
cheap domain resellers out there. In fact, quite a large
number of ICANN accredited domain name registrars offer
these programs. Domain names can also be displayed for
sale in other ways. For example, online auction shopping
sites such as eBay allow the reselling of domains for
free. Domains can also be sold on a website o a domain
reseller business. It is even possible to find a buyer
when a business domain is listed for sale in a free
classified Internet directory ad. The possibilities are
almost endless when it comes to buying and selling
domains.
