Domain
Name Server
The tool that translates domain names into IP (Internet
Protocol) addresses is the domain name server (DNS). The
IP addresses that the DNS translates domains into are
numeric.
These numeric IP addresses are what are read by
computers. Computers will not be able to read the domain
name address that people use in order to more easily
identify a particular website or web page. IP addressees
are usually provided by a Domain Name Server (DNS) who
is located in close proximity to someone’s ISP (Internet
service provider). For instance, quite a few people have
chosen AOL or Netzero as their ISP (company who provides
internet service), and these DNS addresses are provided
with close range of these companies.
Domain Name Server (Dns) Issues
Sometimes the DNS cache needs to be cleared. This
process is also sometimes is referred to as “NS cache
flushing” which is the practice of removing unwanted
information from a certain temporary file folder (i.e.
internet search history). Sometimes this cache cleaning
is provided for free, and provides a way for DNS cache
clearing to be performed with one click. Whenever you
are attempting to use freeware, however, beware of
possible spy ware and viruses that could harm your
computer.
You may want to try to find a trusted paid service that
you know will not “spy” on you or harm your computer.
This service may be provided through your ISP or your
web hosting company. If you cannot clear your DNS cache
you may need to either consult your web host or internet
service provider. There could be a problem with the DNS
address you were assigned. Another issue that involves
the use of a DNS is that sometimes a domain name server
(DNS) address is not valid. In order to know for sure if
it is you may need to do a DNS query. If you are having
any additional problems it may be necessary for you to
consult your web host, Internet Service Provider, or
other tech professional for more information.
Additional Domain Name Server (Dns) Info
In order to determine if a Domain Name Server address is
valid you may want to perform a DNS lookup. This is done
by way of a simple search, done either by IP address or
domain name. You can also complete a DNS or reverse DNS
lookup to determine if a person or organization is
included on a spam list. This is very useful when
planning a course of promotional action. It is important
for you to register any domain name that you use. It
will be easier to have it supported by a web host if you
do. Quite a few inexpensive web hosting services are
available to you if you are in search of one.
